Moving around Malta from the Snop House is easy, whether you want to use the buses, ferries or taxis. We’ve summed up for you all the useful information below. Read on and start planning your holidays on the archipelago!
Buses
The closest bus stop from The Snop House is Redentur, 30 meters away from our hotel. From there, 3 lines are available.
Route 1 (to Valetta) and route 213 (to Mater Dei) are perfect for a visit to the Hypogeum in Paola (stop: Paola 3)
If you feel like swimming, route 124 (to Marsaskala) will conveniently take you to Zonqor or St Thomas Bay in Marsaskala.
To reach other places in Malta, the best option is to head towards Valetta where all the lines are starting. Route 1 will take you there in approximately 45 minutes, however we definitely prefer the boat option for this!
You can either get your ticket directly to the driver (payment by cash or card), or, should you plan to use the bus frequently, opt for an explore card.
Ferries
The Valetta Ferry Service is a fantastic way to reach Malta’s capital and its historical riches. The pier is 10 minutes away by walk from the Snop House (go down to the Sea Front, then take right until you reach the bridge, cross the bridge, and then take left)
There’s a departure every 30 minutes, and crossing the Grand Harbour will take about 10 minutes. Hold on to your ticket, as it will grant you free access to the Barakka lift. Tickets can be purchased directly on the boat.
Once in Valetta, the Gozo Fast Ferry is conveniently located 20 meters away from the pier. Hop on the boat, and 45 minutes later you will be on Malta’s sister island. For this trip, we suggest booking your ticket in advance to avoid disappointement.
Taxi
Moving around Malta by cab has never been that easy. Bolt, Uber and Ecabs are available as apps on your smartphone, and will let you hail or book a ride in no time.
We can also arrange your pick up from the airport when you arrive, saving you the hassle. Simply contact us with you flight number and arrival time, and we will book it for you. Our chauffeur will be waiting for you at the arrival hall and take you smoothly to the Snop House.
Renting a car
Are you a car enthusiast? In that case, bear in mind that you’ll have to drive on the left, sometimes wait in traffic jams, and circle in search of a parking space. However, you can easily find a parking space in Senglea, often right opposite the hotel, without having to pay a parking fee.
