The malta Biennale 2024

“baħar abjad imsaġar taż-żebbuġ – white sea olive groves”: the inaugural edition of The Malta Biennale welcomes visitors from March 13th to May 31st, 2024.

The selected venues span across Valletta, Gozo, and The Three Cities (Cottonera). Exhibitions, interventions and performances are taking place in historical sites, some of them usually seldom open to the public.

This presents an extraordinary opportunity to immerse yourself in Malta’s unique heritage, transformed for a few weeks by contemporary artists from around the globe. To name a few, whose work we particularly like: Maltese artists such as Austin Camilleri or Aaron Bezzina, as well as Bettina Hutschek, visual artist and filmmaker from Germany, or Anne Immelé, a french photographer.

Mr. and Mrs. Snop, passionate collectors and ardent supporters of the arts, have naturally made contemporary art the cornerstone of The Snop House. From the lobby to the staircase, from the rooftop to the breakfast area, and notably, in each of our meticulously curated rooms, you’ll encounter pieces from their collection.

There’s no better time than now to book your stay with us and explore or rediscover Malta, its heritage, and its vibrant artistic scene—all while basking in the dolce far niente ambiance of the Snop House.
